I have been using this app for about a year and I think its great. Easy to use and remember, just does what it supposed to do. The new version is even better.

This app is simply way too expensive for what it is…. I would have to say .99 cents is the max that its worth in its current form. Anytime you use the app, you’ll just have to be laughing at how crude and immature the graphics and design of the actual app looks. Not to mention there are no editing capabilites, not even a simple arrow that you could throw in there. Even the free Skitch has that. My suggestion? Stay away until this dev knows what good design looks like.
Great new release! Holds all the great features from before but this new layout is slick! I also love the new timed capture. This solves an issue where I needed to get certain things ready such as a menu to be opened before the screenshot was made. That feature takes care of this. Also the float window is a wonderful addition. Having it as reference and to be able to use that float on an additional capture is a great idea! In all excellent app.
I love this app. The only way they could have made it easier to use is if they hired someone else to do it for me. Very well done!
It’s a good app but can be better with annotation feature. Why force to rate and review everytime I quit the app? that’s not really good.
After using the app for 3 mins, I can tell I will love using it! Clean interface, easy and snappy functionality. Would love to see dropbox and/or google drive integration. For now, I added those folders to my favorites. Well done!
Fast and simple. I wish it could support some annotation
I often take screen shots and then have to locate the shot. DreamShot not only solves that problem, it will send clipping to a variety of locations. It does what it says it will do and does it well.
Very useful. Use it to capture text from screen then OCR it with another program. Works great. A feature I would gladly for would be the ability to capture text in screen shot and OCR from the program then copy and paste.
great app! just what I was looking for- very simple.
I use this constantly and it’s so well-designed and easy/fun/useful to use. I use for professional imaging and silly personal stuff. Simple and powerful. Yay Dreamshot people!
I really like the basic interaction and I mostly use it to send captures directly to photoshop in fewer steps than with apple capture. My issue is that the captures arrive in photoshop with compression artifacts that make it difficult to use them in comps. Apple’s capture utility gives me a much cleaner result. I would love to see the ability to capture the contents of a scrolling browser window - snagit will do this but the interaction is clunky and unreliable. I also like the promise of this being extensible and scriptable. Perhaps the previous point could be addressed through a script? If so, I hope someone will share one :-) On the whole, its a nice app but unfortunately the compression artifacting makes it unusable for my most common tasks. Hopefully an option will be created to allow for a lossless capture and then I can up my rating. My usage may not be typical - if you are mostly using screenshots for documentation, Dreamshot will likely meet your needs very gracefully.
Ive been using Dreamshot to communicate with my team. Saves me tons of time. The 2.0 update is really nice compared to the previous version. The new float option has already been very useful during my day to keep a reference image on top of other windows during design phases. Looking forward to the promised Applescript support. I’d love to be able to make my own custom scripted destinations.
I like all the options to save the screenshot or send it to a different application.
I’d pay for this app. Take my money.
Capturing windows is a bit unintuitive but works well once you know to press the space bar!
I really like the options after you capture. Sometimes I want the screenshot to go directly to a folder pre-named and so I use Apple’s default screen shot. Otherwise, I use Dreamshot. One of the features is to choose “Clipboard” and then paste it directly into en email. Very nicely done. Almost a 5. The Capture Region timer captures full screen. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. thanks
You can do very simple screen captures - via 3 clicks and share almost anywhere.
Wonderful app, works perfect to get snapshot fast. I loved this app for its features and user-friendliness. It’s so easy to use. Very glad to find this awesome snapshot taking app, will highly recommend.
Hi - this is a really wonderful app. Already fits nicely into my workflow. But the only think I can’t seem to do is copy and paste a URL into the Tweet I want to share with a Dreamshot captured image. Am I missing something?
